With the support of the Canada Council for the Arts and the City of Montreal, virtual reality projects were created following workshops with a team of artists in 2017 and 2018.
Dans la tête incorporates a transmedia dimension that is visual, literary, media-based, and spatial, culminating in the creation of immersive experiences for neurodiverse teenagers and adults. This multiplatform project, incorporating visual and audio co-creation, web capsules, virtual reality clips, and a collective installation at TOPO, aims to promote neurodiversity and positive recognition of autism.
Throughout the workshops, participants were introduced to documentary filmmaking and media production through photography, video, and virtual reality technologies. Through the activities offered, participants had the opportunity to create media works using innovative technological tools that allowed them to immerse themselves in rich sensory and creative worlds.
This project is part of a larger documentary and immersive initiative, Les pieds en haut, aimed at promoting a better understanding of autism.

The projects
Labyrinthe atypique presents a collective and fruitful exploration of neurodiversity through a virtual stroll in which autistic participants express their specific emotions and interests.
Les pieds en haut: Mathys invites viewers to immerse themselves in the perceptions of a 5-year-old autistic child to experience a moment in everyday life magnified by his hypersensitivity and focus.
Sweets with Pete offers an immersive version of the artist-host's cooking show, turning it into a “you are the hero” video: when wearing the headset, viewers find themselves in the chef's position, as if their hands were an extension of their body.
Les aventures de Terry take place in the heart of the forest. The viewer is in the shoes of a honey badger, a carnivorous animal that, while hunting, spots unlikely animals.
