Conference: “Review and outlook for a forum for discussion on digital publishing”
1201 Saint-Laurent Boulevard
Free access
From March to June 2021, TOPO presented the virtual forum Mutations :: Books in the Digital Age, a program of 24 webinars featuring around 20 speakers who play key roles in the digital publishing process, in creation, production, distribution, and marketing, focusing on the following issues:
Platform hybridity • Audiobooks and podcasts • Children's publishing • Education • Sales and distribution networks • Publishing and discoverability • Scholarly publishing • Professional association initiatives • Production and design • Narrative innovation and experimentation.
Initiator of the MUTATIONS forum and director of TOPO, Michel Lefebvre will provide an overview of the multitude of issues raised by the forum's guests. This presentation will offer a summary of the entire forum and will lead to the unveiling of new, hybrid digital publishing projects planned for virtual, physical, or audiovisual distribution.
With this conference, which also serves as a review of the MUTATIONS forum, TOPO joins the fourth edition of the art book fair. Volume 4 MTL: Art and Books organized by ARCMTL, with a focus on digital publishing. ARCMTL is an organization that has been recognized for promoting alternative culture for over twenty years, notably through Expozine—a major independent publishing fair—and Distroboto, a network of cigarette machines converted into distributors of micro-cultural productions.
The event will be held in compliance with current health guidelines. All participants and visitors will be required to present their vaccination passport and valid photo ID before entering the SAT.
TOPO would like to thank the Canada Council for the Arts for funding MUTATIONS through the Digital Strategy Fund.
