Natalie Doonan is an artist and professor from Ontario. She has taught audiovisual and contemporary art at Sheridan College, the University of Toronto, the University of British Columbia, and Emily Carr University of Art and Design. She is now an assistant professor of digital creation in the Department of Communication at the University of Montreal.
Natalie's work has been featured in exhibitions and festivals across Canada and abroad, including the Cultural Olympiad of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, the LIVE Performance Art Biennale, the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival, the Elektra Festival and BIAN in Montreal, Nuit Blanche and Art Souterrain, as well as the Tunisian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2017. Her writing has been published in professional and peer-reviewed journals on art and food culture, such as Canadian Theatre Review, Theatre Research in Canada, Public Art Dialogue, Canadian Food Studies, Gastronomica, the Senses & Society, and Performance Research.
Natalie enjoys eating and walking and has led over 30 public tours and tastings in and around Montreal since 2011. Her award-winning artworks and writings explore places through the senses.
