Presentation of projects in development for emerging artists in digital arts
Initiated by the Société des arts technologiques (SAT) and coordinated by the Conseil québécois des arts médiatiques (CQAM) with the participation of Eastern Bloc, OBORO, Studio XX, le Labo NT2, TOPO and Vidéographe, Labsessions invites the community of emerging digital artists to submit a project currently in development as part of the 18th evening event, which will take place on Thursday, April 2, 2020, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT).
Labsessions events aim to provide a showcase and springboard for emerging artists in digital arts. The evenings are also a place for artists, speakers, and organizations in the field to meet and exchange ideas.
Three projects will be selected. Each artist whose project is selected will be invited to give a short presentation (or demo) during the Labsessions evening in front of a panel of representatives from artist-run centers. Following these presentations, and in a spirit of constructive criticism, the panel will offer comments or recommendations.
At their discretion, partner organizations may offer additional support to Labsessions, which may vary depending on their mandate and available resources (loan of specialized equipment, access to laboratories, technical support, consultation or mentoring, access to an activity or festival, etc.).
