We were pleased to invite you to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of TOPO members on Tuesday 29 August 2023 at 5.30pm. The AGM is a meeting place where we present to members the results of our activities, the plan for the coming year and the issues that should guide our actions.

The year 2022-2023 marks a return to a certain post-pandemic normality. In the spring of 2022, we focused on creating several websites, including CYMX, by Isabelle Gagné, and the programming website Frontière — Réflexion artistique et théorique, accompanied by a printed publication in the form of a map. Its launch in June 2022 marked the completion of an international cooperation project with the visit of the director of Bitamine Faktoria, Helga Massetani Piemonte, and a creative residency in the Spanish Basque Country by artist Michel Huneault. Also in June 2022, TOPO gave a presentation at the ISEA forum in Barcelona before heading to the Basque Country to network with other organizations active in the border area between Irun and Hendaye.
The showcase program resumed in August 2022 with Million and the destruction of as many digital works, a project by Alain Bergeron, from LopLop, a small company hosted at TOPO for creative residency and network development, with the support of the La Piscine business incubator. This was followed by a showcase of projects L’Arpenteur, from the Bleu Diode collective with poet Jean-Yves Fréchette, Selfgen, by Marion Schneider, and Cinematography of virtual matter, by Johann Baron Lanteigne, the latter two using artificial intelligence to create images.
Finally, our training programs have been very successful, in photography and multiplatform production with the eighth edition of our bootcamp. Two other projects were launched in the winter of 2023: an extended residency for artist Leonardo Sanchez de Lima, and a program of virtual creative workshops under the umbrella of theIncubateur de littérature numérique (ILINU), a Quebec-Mexico cooperation project.
At the close of the AGM, we invited artist and composer Alejandro Brianza from Argentina, who had just returned from a creative residency at the Sporobole Center in Sherbrooke. His presence sparked a discussion about the virtual exhibition that resulted from ILINU in Mozilla Hubs.
