In 2009, DIAGONALE, Centre des arts et des fibres du Québec, organised fish-making days with artists and members of the public. Hundreds of fish created from recycled fabrics and drawn from the resources of Fashion Plaza, located at 5455 de Gaspé, were then distributed en masse on the inaugural day of the fishing season, April 1.
In 2010, TOPO teamed up with DIAGONALE to add a media dimension to the project. Eight ready-made fish have been digitised and animated for the Web, allowing anglers to catch fish and send them to their friends with a message of their own! And as part of Fibre and Textile Month 2010, more than 400 fish will be distributed at the entrance to Mont-Royal Metro.
