What defines Hobbes' Leviathans are the units that compose them (humans) and the interactions between them.<\/p><p>Originally designed as a robotic installation where plotters draw lines on a canvas, the work\u00a0<em>L\u00e9viathan<\/em>\u00a0has been adapted for online distribution in the form of an interactive website where visitors are invited to leave their mark. The data captured by the computer's camera\u2014facial movements, date, and duration of presence\u2014is used to create tracings that offer a topology of the interactions that take place there collectively. No other data is stored, leaving only what constitutes the\u00a0<em>L\u00e9viathan<\/em>\u00a0by Paolo Almario: virtual paintings of lines and dots resulting from audience interaction with digital capture systems. Les r\u00e9percussions de son engagement artistique l\u2019ont men\u00e9 \u00e0 demander la protection du Gouvernement Canadien o\u00f9 il a le statut de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9 depuis 2015.\r\n\r\nIl a re\u00e7u une formation de la Facultad de Arquitectura y Dise\u00f1o de l\u2019Universidad Los Andes (Bogota, Colombie). En 2014, Il compl\u00e8te une ma\u00eetrise en arts de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Chicoutimi (UQAC). Son travail a \u00e9t\u00e9 soutenu \u00e0 plusieurs reprises par le Conseil des arts et des lettres du Qu\u00e9bec (CALQ) et le Conseil des arts du Canada. En 2018, il re\u00e7oit la distinction Prix du CALQ \u2013 Cr\u00e9ateur de l\u2019ann\u00e9e au Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean. Ses \u0153uvres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 expos\u00e9es au Canada, en Colombie, en Italie, en Belgique et en France.\r\n\r\nDans sa pratique, Paolo Almario utilise des technologies num\u00e9riques pour collecter, analyser, codifier, traiter et transformer des \u00e9chantillons de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 sous une pluralit\u00e9 de formes artistiques.
