Starting September 2, 2021, TOPO gave new momentum to the project.\u00a0Mes mots, mon quartier\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>by offering poetic walks in Old Rosemont with the street theater troupe\u00a0Toxique Trottoir<\/strong>.<\/p>

Drawing on the website's repertoire of anecdotes and poetic phrases\u00a0mesmots.ca<\/a>Toxique Trottoir led five poetic walks, bringing to life the stories gathered during the cultural outreach project. Mes mots, mon quartier<\/em>, conducted in 2019-2020 by TOPO \u2013 Digital Creation Center, with artist Caroline Barber and interactive designer Yannick Gu\u00e9guen.<\/p>

Like street advertisers, actresses Dominique Marier and Muriel de Zangroniz will wander around the neighborhood and share the gossip they have gathered with anyone who is willing to listen. Funny, sometimes bizarre, and even mysterious, these acted-out anecdotes will allow the audience to discover their neighborhood in a new light.<\/p>

Halfway between theater, clowning, and poetry, the actresses will leave poetic traces of their passage on the corners of sidewalks along their route.<\/p>

Mes mots, mon quartier<\/em>, a collective adventure<\/h2>

Under the artistic direction of the poetess\u00a0Caroline Barber<\/strong>We collected words and anecdotes associated with specific locations in the area, then created poetic sentences using the words gathered via our word boxes and during creative workshops at four partner locations: the Rosemont Library, L'Oasis des enfants, Acc\u00e8s-Cible, and the Petite C\u00f4te Community Center.<\/p>

These fun and creative meetings resulted in the collection of nearly 300 words associated with anecdotes that can be found on the website.\u00a0mesmots.ca<\/strong><\/a>, created with the interactive designer\u00a0Yannick Gu\u00e9guen<\/strong>. You can visit this site on your computer, but also while walking around the neighborhood with your cell phone, offering an unusual way to see the streets, alleys, and other places steeped in local history.<\/p>

The participation of\u00a0Toxique Trottoir<\/strong>\u00a0marks a new milestone in the project's evolution. This street theater troupe was a finalist for the Grand Prix du Conseil des arts de Montr\u00e9al in 2020.<\/p>

Participate in the Virtual Word Box<\/h3>

Interrupted in winter 2020 by the Great Lockdown, the collection of words and anecdotes continues with the Virtual Word Box. Click on the PARTICIPATE button on the website.\u00a0mesmots.ca<\/strong><\/a>Write an anecdote related to your neighborhood, area of residence, or living environment, choose a word related to that anecdote, specify the address or exact location of your anecdote, and then have fun with the poetry creation app Mes Mots, Mon Po\u00e8me. It's easy and fun!<\/p>
