{"id":3472,"date":"2012-05-27T18:57:00","date_gmt":"2012-05-27T22:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/topo.art\/chantier\/?post_type=production&#038;p=3472"},"modified":"2024-10-04T11:25:31","modified_gmt":"2024-10-04T15:25:31","slug":"detours","status":"publish","type":"production","link":"https:\/\/topo.art\/en\/production\/detours\/","title":{"rendered":"<em>D\u00e9tours<\/em> | Taien Ng-Chan"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"3472\" class=\"elementor elementor-3472\" data-elementor-post-type=\"production\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8a5f31f e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"8a5f31f\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5f26b35 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5f26b35\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The diversions feels like a break from routine, an unexpected journey through places of history and small observations scattered across an everyday landscape.<\/p><p><strong>D\u00e9tours<\/strong>\u00a0is produced and directed by<strong>Agence TOPO<\/strong>under the direction of\u00a0<strong>Taien Ng-Chan<\/strong>, who is also responsible for the creation of two of the routes explored in this project: Passages de ville, with video poems and a narrative based on the observation of those strangers we meet on the bus and who become familiar to us; and Les rues des saints, a joyous fusion of geography, poetry and hagiography, with the support of the Byzantine iconographer\u00a0<strong>Adrian Gorea<\/strong>. The other routes mapped for this project all offer a unique exploration of the places that inhabit us. In Walkups: scenes from Montreal life, extracts from the author's collection\u00a0<strong>Lance Blomgren<\/strong>\u00a0have been mapped and enriched by the sound explorations of\u00a0<strong>Gordon Neil Allen<\/strong>In Les chansonnettes de ville (City Ditties), the artist uses short stories and the absurdities of life as they relate to Montreal homes. In Les chansonnettes de ville (City Ditties),\u00a0<strong>Samuel Thulin<\/strong>\u00a0proposes sound environments linked to certain places in the city and created with the help of his mobile phone, using only sounds recorded and mixed on the spot with his iPhone. In Field Notes,\u00a0<strong>Emilie O\u2019Brien<\/strong>\u00a0explores Le Champ des possibles - a Mile End wasteland also known as Maguire Meadows - with embroidery, textworks, images, and an interview with the creator of this Roerich Garden project,\u00a0<strong>Emily Rose Michaud<\/strong>. In Les lignes de d\u00e9sir (Desirelines),\u00a0<strong>Donna Akrey<\/strong>\u00a0mapped lines of desire, wild shortcuts traced by people over the years and discovered during her urban wanderings. Finally, the Rendez-vous map was created in collaboration with participants in cultural mediation workshops run by Acc\u00e8s Culture Montr\u00e9al, as part of the 2012 Biennale internationale d'art num\u00e9rique.<\/p><p>All the routes that make up D\u00e9tours have been optimised for viewing and listening in the very places that inspired their creation, although walkers are also invited to discover them and enter this universe. D\u00e9tours is a media project designed for the web and mobile platforms, and is accessible via tablet computers and smartphones.
